Mount Stewart is tops for days out...according to a review of ‘Top places for days out’ in Which Magazine. The property, cared for by the National Trust, is officially the top place to spend a day out in Northern Ireland, and staff at Mount Stewart are delighted. The House and Gardens, which is owned by the conservation charity, has just featured as the only Northern Ireland visitor attraction to be listed in the survey of top places to visit this summer.
Commenting on the Which review of top places for a day out, Hilary Mc Grady the National Trust’s Regional Director said;
"We are delighted to be the only Tourist attraction to be listed in the ‘Which’ review. Mount Stewart is a superb property for all ages. From young to old we welcome over 140,000 visitors to the house and gardens annually. To receive the thumbs up from so many visitors from Northern Ireland and beyond, and now ‘Which’ magazine further endorses why the property is so great for a day out."
Debbie McCamphill, Property Manager at Mount Stewart, added:
"The Gardens at Mount Stewart are spectacular so I am not surprised that they are so popular with keen garden enthusiasts. Our Grand Garden and craft fair annually welcomes over 12,000 people in two days!!!! Children and families love Mount Stewart too and make up around 65% of our visitors annually. We provide so much choice from tracker packs to over 50 family events annually as well as kiddie trails and children’s menus in the tea room. This review is great for the staff and volunteers who work so hard to make Mount Stewart House and Gardens so enjoyable."
Mount Stewart House, Formal Gardens and the Bay restaurant are open daily closing at the end of October. The Lakeside Gardens are open all year.
