Enniscoe Gardens Enniscoe House, on the shores of Lough Conn, is an early 18th-century house, substantially extended in the 1790s. Few traces remain of the 18th century gardens, but in the period 1840 to 1950 three generations of the family were keen and knowledgeable gardeners. After 1950 the gardens fell into decline. The walled garden has now been restored and work is still ongoing in the pleasure grounds. A feature of the ornamental garden is the rustic stone archway planted with hardy ferns and the long rockery. Mayo North Heritage Centre adjoins the Gardens. There is a museum of household artefacts and farm machinery. The tea rooms opens onto a terrace overlooking the gardens, and the shop stocks local crafts and antique collectables. Enniscoe House is a member of Irelands Blue Book and The Hidden Ireland and is open for dinner, bed and breakfast, April to October. Enniscoe Gardens have been restored with the assistance of an ERDF grant through Bord Fáilte, under The Great Gardens of Ireland Restoration Programme and a FÁS scheme. | Situated | 4km from Crossmolina on the R315 | | Open | 1st April - 30th September daily 10.00 - 18.00 Saturdays & Sundays 14.00 - 18.00 | | Admission | Gardens & Heritage Centre: Adults €10.00, Children €3.00 Gardens only: Adults €6.00, Children €2.00 Heritage Centre only: Adults €6.00, Children €2.00 | | Facilities | Toilets, Parking, Tea Room, Gift Shop, Wheelchair Access Dinner, Bed & Breakfast in Enniscoe House Self Catering apartments in courtyard | | Contact | Carol Williams: Gardens & Heritage Centre
